Burning Prohibition of Demolition Materials

Residents are advised that the burning of demolition materials/ waste within town boundaries is strictly prohibited as per Section 12 of the Province’s Air Pollution Control Regulations, 2004. As per Section 16 of the Environmental Protection Act, all debris resulting from the demolition of derelict structures shall be directed to an approved waste disposal site. On-site burial of the debris is also strictly prohibited. Strict fines may be issued for breaching regulation.
